- Have Fun. It is expected that you will call your own nets and obvious throws.
- Minimum team age for Men’s is 80 years in the Men’s 80’s and 100 in the Men’s 100, Women’s is 75 years. Tournament Director may at his discretion allow teams who do not meet the minimum age requirement to participate. Teams are awarded 1 point for every 4 full years older than their opponent. 5 points maximum per match. In the Men’s 100 maximum points is 8. Older team shall have their choice of side or serve to start the match. If you have questions about the points in a match please see the tournament director well in advance of your match!
- MIKASA King of the Beach black and white shall be the official tournament ball. If all players agree, you can use the Miramar King of the Beach black and white. No other ball is to be used.
- Maximum 5 minute warm up per match! Be Ready! 2 one minute time outs per team per game.
- Rules are “Old School”. No let serves, the poles are the antennas, a net is a net even after the ball hits the ground, clean hands! You must serve to earn a point.
- 3 hits per side (the block counts as one).
- No redirecting the ball on a block (no breaking of the wrist)
- If your game is called up and you are not available, you will forfeit! Games will not always go in order! No Substitutions. If your partner is injured or a no show you will forfeit. I suggest not leaving the tournament area without checking with the tournament director.
- Winners are to report the score immediately to the tournament tent. Losers are to stay on the court to referee and keep score for the next match. It is the losers responsibility to get the next game going on time!
- No bad attitudes! Please respect the hotel property and clean up your area! Swimming pool and lounge chairs and grassy areas are for hotel guests only!
- The Tournament Director shall have the final say on any rule interpretations.
